Hope is, after all, worth fighting
for.
Do you constantly worry about your life? Does your present
job put you into stress? Have you lost your motivation to
fight back? Are you afriad of living due to major financial
strain or betrayed by your close friend? Don't you see any
hope at all in the future? A visit to an orphanage could very
well give new meaning to your life. It has certainly made
to my life. So, why not yours?
As a cry volunteer, I visited Govt. Juvenile Home
for Boys located in Royapuram, Chennai
and felt great injustice was meted to them - the leaders of
tomorrow. Looking at the infrastructure and environment, it
only worsen my sadness. I can't help but wonder what happens
to the crores of funds allocated by government to the betterment
of children. And NGOs booming like a mushroom, is it so difficult
to maintain a home in a respectable manner. To build a good
infrastructure with healthy environment must not be so difficult.
Look at the shopping malls and IT Parks. Their toilet rooms
are much better. Even We, as individuals, are willing to spend
endless time and money on religious causes for our own greediness
that we lose our basic sense of being empathetic.
Inspite of all these tragedies, these boys burst out with
their full energy and affection the moment they see you. Probably,
they would not give a damn care to the political games and
injustice caused to them, provided you are there -
to encourage, educate and play with them. Their cheerfulness,
indeed, highly infectious. Unlike you and me, most of these
people have been abused and exploited at a very young age.
They are helpless. They do not have anybody to care for them
and be with them. Probably, they haven't seen the brighter
side of life yet they haven't abandoned their hope.
It is clearly evident from their cheerfulness, although inside
their heart is bleeding.
ps: I have sent an email to the concerned authorities but
that is not all. Please take a moment and email to our president
Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam at presidentofindia@rb.nic.in
and to the Director, Dept. of Social Defence - mcbchn@tn.nic.in.
Perhaps, when we join together, our voices would be much more
audible and powerful.
